If you’re on the Hawaiian Island of Maui or planning a trip there, it’s likely that a drive up Hāna Highway is on your agenda. And why not? There is lots of incredible scenery and many beautiful sites to enjoy along the route.
If you go, we’re offering another experience along your route up the road – a one hour-ish guided tour of our three-acre, private Maui botanical garden.
About the Garden
When Raintree Tropical owners Tim and Sarah purchased their Maui property in 2010, their aim was to plant out the largely vacant landscape into a nursery in which they’d grow and sell exotic palms and ferns, ornamental trees, a huge variety of flowering plants and a broad array of citrus and tropical fruit trees.
Over the years, it became increasingly difficult for them to consider parting with any of the lush, happily growing flora Tim had selectively procured and nurtured. Now with a tropical plant paradise comprised of many specimen plants they had come to greatly enjoy, digging out these beloved plants to sell was no longer enticing.
An idea formed. Instead of sharing plants by selling them, Tim decided he would share his plants – and his knowledge of them – to fellow tropical plant enthusiasts making their way up the Hana highway. Thus, this private Maui botanical garden tour sprung to life.
